SGT Hospital and Ayurvedic Medicine Program

This study abroad program provides students with an opportunity to learn about global health, focusing on traditional Ayurvedic medicine and non-westernized medical interventions. The pre-travel didactic online course will prepare students to deliver culturally sensitive holistic nursing care, emphasizing global health perspectives, population-based assessment, health promotion, and disease prevention.
The clinical course on-site experiece at SGT Hospital and in local communities will focus on best practices for disease prevention and management, health promotion, and population-based care. Students will engage in activities that promote understanding of both allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine, including alternative healing techniques.

Not Covered

Utah Tech tuition and fees, round trip airfare, passport fees, and discretionary spending.

Program Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age at departure
  • 2.0 GPA
  • Must be accepted to the nursing program for Fall of 2025 with a valid CNA certificate or currently enrolled in the nursing program.
