Studying abroad is one of the most enriching experiences of your college career, but many students are intimidated by the cost. The good news is that there are many scholarships available to help you afford to study abroad. It is recommended that students spend at least 10 hours searching and applying for scholarships. Financial Aid
Faculty Programs
Funds distributed to you through FAFSA may be used for both the tuition charges and trip fees. Funds for the course credits will be directly applied to your tuition in your student account, and any remaining funds will be sent to your listed bank account. Save up!
Affiliate Programs
FAFSA funds may be used for these programs after we register you for courses. Tuition is not charged directly at UT, so FAFSA funds will all be applied to your bank account listed, and must be paid to USAC directly. FAFSA funding for semesters following these abroad experiences will be held until we receive the abroad transcript.
Exchange Programs
FAFSA funds may be used for these programs after we register you for courses. Tuition is charged directly to your student account for these programs, so whatever funds you have will transfer directly over to tuition owed. FAFSA funding for semesters following these abroad experiences will be held until we receive your abroad transcript.
Scholarships
Faculty Programs
Academic Scholarships will be applied to the tuition charges for the class, but cannot be used to pay for the trip fees. Please browse Scholarship Universe and the provided External Scholarships tab to find scholarships that are either specific to Study Abroad or those that can also be used for Study Abroad fees.

Fees related to airfare, housing, utilities etc. abroad will not be charged to your student account and will not be covered by Academic Scholarships.
