Participate in a pre-travel learning experience in preparation for our June study abroad program. In June, we will travel to Japan and collaborate with nursing faculty and students for an immersive academic and cultural exchange experience focused on global nursing perspectives, holistic healing practices, and cross-cultural healthcare delivery. During our time in Japan, we will engage in classroom discussions, lectures, campus visits, and interprofessional learning activities alongside Japanese nursing students. We will explore approaches to holistic healing, traditional and contemporary health practices, and the ways culture shapes patient care and community wellness. The program includes one week staying in Tokyo, where we will experience healthcare in an urban setting while exploring the history, culture, and innovation of Japan’s capital city. We will then spend one week in Ibigawa, living with host families for a deeper cultural immersion experience. While in Ibigawa, we will engage with the local community and experience daily life in a more rural setting. In addition to academic activities, there will be designated time to explore culturally and historically significant sites together.
