Gain an understanding of humanitarian work, including humanitarian aid, and operations of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) as you work inside refugee camps. You will see firsthand refugee health and social challenges within the camps. You will also gain an understanding of the impact of conflict on healthcare delivery and the health of populations. Students will understand the origins and experiences of refugees starting with African Refugee Camps in Rhino Camp and Bidi Bidi Settlements in Arua, Uganda, to the genocide memorial in Kigali, Rwanda.
