This faculty-led travel study program to Spain offers STEM students a unique opportunity to combine technical learning with cultural immersion. Participants will enhance their technical skills through hands-on Arduino-based projects, working closely with mentors and peers to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. The technical component focuses on building proficiency in programming, electronics, and problem-solving, culminating in a final project presentation.
Beyond the classroom, students will engage deeply with Spanish culture through a variety of activities designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of various contexts within Spain. Activities include visits to historical landmarks, and immersive experiences such as language classes and traditional cooking workshops. These experiences will foster cultural sensitivity and appreciation, encouraging students to reflect on their personal and professional growth.
Overall, this program not only aims to advance students’ technical expertise but also to cultivate global awareness and respectful, appreciative interactions with diverse cultures. It prepares students for future professional environments by enhancing their ability to work in international and interdisciplinary contexts, making it a comprehensive and enriching experience both academically and personally.
Professors Lora Klein and Ren Quinn will be leading the trip!
