Universidad Hispanoamericana Exchange Program

The City

San Jose is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica located in the center of the country with a population of approximately 340,000. San Jose is a modern city with strong commerce and outstanding art and architecture. Areas of notoriety include museums, galleries, wonderful coffee, and natural beauty.

The University

Universidad Hispanoamericana is a private higher education institution founded in 1992. It offers 23 majors including Health Sciences, Engineering, and Education.

Areas of Study

Students who have completed 2-years of Spanish language learning may continue their study of Spanish. This is a Spanish emersion experience, meaning that all of the course will be in Spanish language learning.

Requirements

  • Advanced Level of Spanish
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Resume
  • Two letters of recommendation from UT faculty /staff and one additional letter from an off campus reference

Student Pays

  • Utah Tech University Tuition and Fees
  • $250 Program Fee/per semester
  • $100 Foreign Exchange Fee/per semester
  • Mandatory International Travel Insurance
  • Airfare (students book and pay for own airfare)
  • $300- $800 Housing Costs
  • Books
  • Personal Expenses
